This British Standard is the UK implementation of

EN 1998‑1‑1:2024. Together with BS EN 1998‑1‑2:‑1), it supersedes

BS EN 1998‑1:2004+A1:2013 which will be withdrawn on

30 March 2028.

The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted to Technical

Committee B/525/8, Structures in seismic regions.

A list of organizations represented on this committee can be obtained on

request to its committee manager.

National choice is allowed in this standard where explicitly stated

within notes. The National Annex to this standard contains the

national choices to be used for buildings and civil engineering works

constructed in the UK.




