Abstract: Th i s recom m end ed practice is add ressed to th e ph ysici an respon s i ble for reprocessing

hem od ialyzers. It covers person nel and patient con siderations, records, equipm en t, phys ical

plan t and environ m en tal safety, reproces sin g m aterial, patient i dentificati on an d hem odialyzer

labeli n g, reprocess i n g and storag e procedures, disposition of rejected dialyzers, preparation for

subsequent u se, pati en t m onitoring, and q uality assurance an d q uality con trol. Th is d ocum ent

does not en d orse either sing l e u se or reu se of d ialyzers.
