1 Scope

1.1 This specification defines the minimum mandatory functional design,

architecture and functionalities necessary for Data Acquisition and Historization

System (DAHS) for capturing, management and use of real-time process data.

1.2 This document also intended to introduce procedures describing the design,

installation, and configuration and commissioning of Data Acquisition and

Historization Systems (DAHS) in Saudi Aramco. Parties involved in the design

of new, upgrade and/or expansion of DAHS are required to comply with these

procedures.

1.3 Where the project Functional Specification Document (FSD) calls for an

integrated process control system, this standard shall apply to the DAHS portion

of the Control system. Project specific requirements and any requirements above

and beyond those included here shall be defined in project specification

documents.

1.4 This entire procedure may be attached to and made a part of purchase orders. A

table of compliance to the requirements of this standard shall be provided with

every technical proposal.

2 Conflicts and Deviations

Any conflicts between this document and other applicable Mandatory Saudi Aramco

Engineering Requirements (MSAERs) shall be addressed to the EK&RD Coordinator.

Any deviation from the requirements herein shall follow internal company procedure

SAEP-302.
