1 Scope

This document defines the specification requirements for Radar Tank Gauging (RTG)

Instruments and Systems used for royalty and custody transfer measurement of

hydrocarbon liquids. It includes the auxiliary temperature instrumentation and Tank

Management System associated with RTG systems.

This standard is restricted to stilling well mounted RTG systems in atmospheric upright

cylindrical, above ground, liquid storage tanks.

This specification does not apply to RTG systems used for measurement of hydrocarbon

liquid loaded/unloaded to/from truck or marine tankers.

The user must specify on the Instrument Specification Sheet (ISS) (SA-8020-321) and

the purchase order the procurement details acquiring RTG, Tank Management system

(TMS), or both.

2 Conflicts and Deviations

Any conflicts between this document and other applicable Mandatory Saudi Aramco

Engineering Requirements (MSAERs) shall be addressed in writing to the EK&RD

Coordinator.

Any deviation from the requirements herein shall follow internal company procedure

SAEP-302, Waiver of a Mandatory Saudi Aramco Engineering Requirement.
