1 Scope

This specification describes the requirements of extreme pressure type gear oils for use

in industrial gear boxes and other specialized applications.

2 Conflicts and Deviations

Any conflicts between this document and other applicable Mandatory Saudi Aramco

Engineering Requirements (MSAERs) shall be addressed to the EK&RD Coordinator.

Any deviation from the requirements herein shall follow internal company procedure

SAEP-302.

4 Requirements

The oils shall be blended from refined virgin high VI base oils and formulated with

synergistic additive packages to impart high oxidative/ thermal stability, anti-corrosion

(ferrous and non-ferrous metal), anti-foam, extreme pressure, and anti-wear properties

to meet the following requirements:

ISO Viscosity Grades:

68, 100, 150, 220, 320, 460, 680, and 1000

Viscosity Index (ASTM D2270):

95 minimum

Timken OK Load (ASTM D2782), lbs:

65 min.
