Amdt 1 2015 Amended to update referenced standards, to delete the definition

for "adequate", to replace the terms "adequate" and "adequately"

with the terms "suitable" and "suitably", respectively, to change

the requirements in the subclause on roof fixing (4.2.11), to add

a note to the figures on roof truss anchor details (hollow units)

and roof truss anchor details (solid units) (figures 34 and 35), to

change the requirements in the subclause on timber-framed

walls (4.3), and to delete the annex on National Building

Regulations – Part K: Walls (annex A) and any references to this

annex.

Foreword

This South African standard was approved by National Committee SABS/TC 060, Standards which

address the National Building Regulations (NBRS), in accordance with procedures of the

SABS Standards Division, in compliance with annex 3 of the WTO/TBT agreement.

This document was approved for publication in February 2015.

This document supersedes SANS 10400-K:2011 (edition 3).

A vertical line in the margin shows where the text has been technically modified by amendment

No. 1.

Compliance with the requirements of this document will be deemed to be compliance with the

requirements of part K of the National Building Regulations, issued in terms of the National Building

Regulations and Building Standards Act, 1977 (Act No. 103 of 1977).
