IS01701=2:1997(E)

IS0 (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national

standards bodies (IS0 member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally

carried out through IS0 technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which

a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee.

International organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take

part in the work. IS0 collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)

on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.

Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member

bodies for voting. Publication as an International Standard requires approval by at least 75% of the

member bodies casting a vote.

International Standard IS0 1701-2 was prepared by Technical Committee ISOTTC 39, Mchine

tools,

Subcommittee SC 2,

Test conditions for metal cutting machine tools.

This first edition of IS0 1701-2 as well as IS0 1701-3 cancels and replaces IS0 1701:1974, which

has been technically revised.

IS0 1701 consists of the following parts, under the general title

machines with table of variable height - Testing of accuracy:

- Pant 0: General introduction (to become part 1 on its next revision)

- Part

Machines with horizontal spindle

- Part 3: Machines with vetfical spindle

Annex A of this part of IS0 1701 is for information only.
