This British Standard is the English language version of EN 993-10 : 1997 published

by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). It supersedes BS 1902 :

Part 5 : Section 5.10 : 1986 which is withdrawn.

The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted to Technical Committee

RPI/1/1, Sampling and physical testing of refractory materials, which has the

responsibility to:

± aid enquirers to understand the text;

± present to the responsible international/European committee any enquiries

on the interpretation, or proposals for change, and keep the UK interests

informed;

± monitor related international and European developments and promulgate

them in the UK.

A list of organizations represented on this committee can be obtained on request to

its secretary.

This European Standard was approved by CEN on 16 October 1997. CEN members

such national standards may be obtained on application to the Central Secretariat or

CEN member into its own language and notified to the Central Secretariat has the

same status as the official versions.
