1 Scope

This specification describes the requirements of an oil for use in automotive automatic

transmissions, mobile hydraulic systems and hydraulic torque converter systems. It is

not suitable for use in Sundyne gearboxes.

2 Conflicts and Deviations

Any conflicts between this document and other applicable Mandatory Saudi Aramco

Engineering Requirements (MSAERs) shall be addressed to the EK&RD Coordinator.

Any deviation from the requirements herein shall follow internal company procedure

SAEP-302.

3 References

Material or equipment supplied to this specification shall comply with the latest edition

of the references listed below, unless otherwise noted.

4 Requirements

The oil shall be meeting DEXRON-III (H) specifications.

Water Content, Max : 200 ppm

Cleanliness Level during delivery, Max : ISO 19/17/14 (ISO 4406) or NAS 8

5 Qualification

For qualification of new lube oils in Saudi Aramco, the process listed in Appendix I

below shall be followed.

6 Identification

Each container shall be marked respectively as follows:

 Saudi Aramco Automatic Transmission Fluid III

 Material Number 1000173155 or 1000173207

 Fill date and location

 Batch Number

 Blender's Name or other identification

 Saudi Aramco Purchase Order Number

 Certificate of Analysis (CoA) to be supplied with each PO (per batch)

Note: Color Coded Label should be attached to the container. The color code specification

will be provided by Saudi Aramco.

Commentary Note:

The Material Master Number varies based on container size as below:
